Guntersville native Jessica Hanners shares her journey from a small Alabama town to becoming an executive chef and restaurateur. At Homecoming and Company in downtown Guntersville, you really feel like you’ve come home to the family dinner table. Jessica’s mom makes the desserts, her dad makes the ice cream, and her cousin is also part of the team. 

The menu is always full of surprises. Folks in the know order anything that involves one of the family’s famous biscuits. And when I asked Jessica what I should order on my first visit, the sound of the “Dirty Bird” chicken and waffle sandwich got my attention. From burgers to local vegetables to fresh Gulf seafood, Homecoming is pure Southern authenticity blended with culinary innovation, all served in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
